Paraza is a typical Languedoc village with an old church that is tatty on the outside but has an extraordinarily attractive interior. The Canal du Midi flows through the village and there is a canal-side restaurant open during the holiday season. The village post office is open for a couple of hours a day.

There is a small grocery shop in the village selling basic day to day products and bread supplemented by regular visiting mobile food vans. There are several supermarkets within a 15 minute drive of Paraza.

In Paraza, you can enjoy a guided tour and wine tasting at the Château. There is also bike hire, 4x4 quad bike hire, tennis and regular boules tournaments. For the more active holiday there are a multitude of bike routes and walking trails locally, fishing and – a little further afield – canoeing, kayaking and wind surfing.

For the culturally-minded there is an active arts association in the village staging regular exhibitions and arts activities and an art gallery which can be found on the banks of the Canal.
